"Hi, I'm Craig and I have been working as a professional photographer in Taranaki since 1976.
My career started as a photographer with the Hawera Star in June, 1976 - a career that would last over 30 years. During that time I photographed many famous and well known faces and won numerous awards for my work including 1981 New Zealand Photographer of the Year in the NZ Community Newspaper's annual competition.
In 2007 I started my own photography business under the name Bates Photographix Ltd working from my home on Surf Highway 45 just a few minutes from Hawera.
I now draw from that vast experience of photographing almost any situation on a daily basis and continue to use it to achieve amazing results in my child and family portraiture, weddings and commercial work.
My current camera of choice is the Canon 5D which delivers amazing results."
